The total number of vacancies for the post of Assistant Professors in Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service is 4000. These posts are for Government Arts and Science colleges and Government Colleges of Education in the state.
Out of 4000 vacancies, 27 posts are for backlog vacancies, 4 posts are for shortfall vacancies, vacancies to teach Differently Abled Persons and Computer Application subjects for Presidency College, Chennai-5 is 3, and current vacancies are 3921.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the post of Assistant Professors in Tamil Nadu Government Arts, Science & Education Colleges are given below:
Educational Qualification
i) A Master’s degree in a concerned/relevant subject from a UGC-recognized institution with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).
ii) A relaxation of 5% shall be allowed for the candidates from reserved categories/classes.
iii) Ph.D. Degree holder candidates who have done master’s degree before 19 September 1991 will also be given a 5% relaxation
iv) The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) or similar tests like SLET / SET / SLST / CSIR / JRF as per UGC Norms.
Age Limit:
The candidates should not have completed 57 years as of 01-07-2024.
Selection Process
As announced by the Tamil Nadu Teacher Recruitment Board (TN TRB), the selection process for the post of Assistant Professor includes:
1) Written Examination
2) Interview
3) Verification of all Certificates / Documents
The documents of the candidates who clear both the written examination and interview will be verified. Then the final selection list will be published.
Application Fee
